Jubilee Metals Advances Molefe Mine Expansion Following Strong Copper Drill Results

Jubilee Metals Confirms High-Grade Copper Continuity at Molefe Mine, Strengthening Feed Supply to Sable Refinery

Jubilee Metals Group has reported encouraging results from its Phase 1 infill drilling programme at the Molefe mine, reinforcing confidence in the continuity and quality of near-surface copper oxide mineralisation.

The findings support the company’s expansion plans and its broader strategy to secure reliable, high-grade copper feedstock from owned resources to sustain its growing processing operations in Zambia.

The Molefe operation is strategically located within trucking distance of Jubilee’s Sable Refinery, enabling efficient transport and processing of ore.

The latest drilling campaign confirmed consistent grades and the continuation of a high-grade copper reef close to surface an important factor for cost-effective mining and processing.

Strong Indicators for Resource Expansion

According to Chief Executive Officer Leon Coetzer, the results delivered within a short timeframe validate the presence of shallow, high-grade copper oxide mineralisation currently being mined at Molefe.

These intersections are particularly well suited for processing at the nearby Sable refinery, strengthening the operational integration between mining and refining activities.

The drilling programme also identified an extension of mineralisation toward the eastern boundary of the mining area.

This discovery suggests further potential for resource growth, especially considering Jubilee holds approximately 12,300 hectares of additional exploration ground adjacent to the existing 400-hectare Molefe mining area.

Phase 2 Drilling Underway

Building on the success of Phase 1, the company has already initiated Phase 2 drilling to further delineate the eastern extension of the ore body.

Data from this programme will be used to establish a clearer timeline for releasing a formal mineral resource estimate.

An updated and expanded mine plan developed in partnership with Galileo Resources is expected to be published within the coming weeks.

This plan will incorporate the latest drilling results and outline the next stages of development at the Molefe operation.

Strategic Significance for Processing Operations

The continued expansion of the Molefe mine is central to Jubilee’s vertically integrated copper strategy in Zambia.

By securing consistent, high-quality feed from its own assets, the company aims to optimise refinery utilisation, reduce reliance on third-party ore supply, and strengthen its position in the region’s copper value chain.

As demand for copper accelerates globally driven by electrification, renewable energy, and infrastructure development projects that combine reliable ore supply with established processing capacity are expected to play a critical role in meeting future market requirements.
